Eligibility and Age 

Requirements: The Little Miss Lubbock Pageant is an open pageant.  To be eligible to compete, the contestant must comply with the following Age and Residency Rules: 

·         A contestant must be a citizen of the United States at any time before the commencement of the local pageant.  

·         A contestant must be a female whose age shall not be  more that fourteen (14) years of age on the day in which she competes.  If there is a question as the age of a contestant, a birth certificate must be available upon request.  

·         The Little Miss Lubbock reigning queens are only eligible to compete the year of their reign, if they change age divisions. 

·         The Miss Pre Teen Lubbock will be eligible to compete in the Miss Teen Lubbock  Pageant the year of her reign.  The Pre Teen does not qualify to the Miss Texas  Teen Pageant and does not have any affiliation with the Miss Texas Outstanding Teen Program.

 Competition 

The Little Miss Lubbock Pageant competition will include: 

·         Modeling - The modeling pattern is a “T” pattern.  Each contestant appears on stage in a party dress.  Pre Teen will have evening wear; an outfit representative of what she would wear to a formal event.  

·         Interview - All contestants will have a private interview with the judges for a length of 2:00 minutes for all age groups except Pre Teen, which will have a 4:00 minute interview.  Interview outfits may be dressy casual, Sunday best, or professional dress and appropriate for the age group.  

·         Talent - Talent may be anything you chose that does not cause any health, fire, or safety hazard to the audience or damage to the theater.  Talent will be limited to 2:30 minutes.  Any music selection must be on a labeled and cued cassette tape or CD-R.  (Some CD-RW’s will not play on the sound system.) Must be turned in at registration. Music must be picked up after the competition.

Photogenic entry is optional. One photo at least 4x6 no larger than 8x10.  Photographs due by registration.

 Tickets - This year winners in each age division will be announced at the Miss Lubbock Pageant.  Tickets will go on sale in mid November. Each contestant will receive one free ticket for her chaperone.    Ticket prices are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.  You may purchase tickets with your entry for $12.00.  

Rules 

·         All contestants must be on time for each event.  You must be in line at the start of you age group.  Tardiness could result in deductions or disqualification. 

·          No Flash Cameras or video cameras will be allowed in the auditorium.  Professionals will videotape the pageant.

·        Chaperones are not allowed to assist competitors during any phase of the competition.
