Narissa's hometown is Dallas, Texas. She is currently a professor at Texas Tech University. Her involvement in the university includes 2023-2024 Faculty Senate Vice-President, Chair of the Human Communication & Technology Division, Vice-Chair of the Communication Assessment Division, Elected Member of the Leadership Development Committee, past Chair of the Family Communication Division, past Chair of the Elementary and Secondary Education Section and past Chair of the Mass Communication Division for the Nation Communication Association. Narissra's has received the YWCA's Women of Excellence in Education award, National Communication Association's Thomas L. Veenendall Lambda Pi Eta Advisor of the Year Award, Texas Tech University President's Mid-Career Award, Texas Tech University's Honors College Faculty of the Year Award, Professing Excellence Award, Mortar Board's Outstanding Faculty Award, James Mignery Collegiality Award, National Communication Association 2021 Presidential Citation for Service Award, 2022 Mentor Tech Lifetime Mentoring Award, 2022 Phenomenal Women of Texas Tech Award. In her free time she enjoys doing Zumba, Barre, and Orange Theory.
Fa-tia's hometown is Milwaukee, WI. Fa-tia, a nurse practitioner, together with her husband Dr. Edwin Onkendi, are the owners of Glo & Sparkle Aesthetics and MedSpa. After graduating with her Nurse Practitioner degree from Marquette University and a Master's in Health Care Administration from Kings College, she had aspirations to open her own healthcare facility. After graduation, Fa-tia completed advanced training in aesthetics from the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. From there, she worked as a NP in Sleep Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later worked as a NP in Colorectal Surgery at Texas Tech University. While in Texas, Fa-tia played an instrumental role in treating the COVID-19 population in West Texas.
Fa-tia was Miss Teen Milwaukee, 1st runner-up for Miss Teen Wisconsin and Miss Wilkes-Barre. Fa-tia's involvement includes volunteering for Miss Wisconsin Pageants, Lubbock Junior league - SPARK 8th grade mentorship and Food2Kids, YWCA Wine Women and Shoes, Lubbock Impact Food and Clothes Closet, Grace Campus Homeless Shelter, Meals on Wheels, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Inside out Foundation, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), MLK day, Volunteer Center of Lubbock, Purses For A Purpose, Holiday Happening, and High Point Village Summer Nights Respite Care.
Raquel is a dedicated community leader known for her exceptional commitment to fostering positive change. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Raquel received the Volunteer Center of Lubbock Get Involved Award in 2023, highlighting her selfless service and impact on the community. Additionally, her remarkable leadership earned her a spot in the prestigious "20 Under 40" list by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce in 2022. Raquel's passion for community engagement extends beyond accolades. She actively serves on multiple boards and committees, such as Rise Academy Charter School, American Windmill Museum, Early Learning Centers of Lubbock, & the Viva Aztlan Festival. Her involvement demonstrates a deep commitment to addressing diverse community needs and creating opportunities for growth. Whether advocating for education initiatives, championing childcare programs, or supporting cultural development projects, Raquel's multifaceted involvement showcases her dedication to building a stronger, more vibrant community. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of individuals who invest their time and energy in causes that matter. Raquel Gonzales continues to be a beacon of inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on the nonprofit landscape and inspiring others to actively engage in community service for the betterment of society.
Anna is the Lubbock Regional Manager for Reliant Energy, where she facilitates and manages relationships between Reliant and the Lubbock community. Previously, she served as the Rawls College of Business Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions. As a proud graduate of Texas Tech University—she holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication Studies from TTU—she spent nearly a decade bringing top talent from around the state to the university as an academic recruiter.
In addition to her work with Reliant, Anna is involved in the Junior League of Lubbock and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she serves on the South Plains Foodbank Board of Directors and the TTU College Media and Communications National Advisory Board.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband, their two children, and their dog, Scooter.
Stacy's hometown is Sanger, TX. Stacy is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Texas Tech's Office of Advancement. Stacy's involvement in the university includes serving on Texas Tech's Masked Rider Advisory Committee, the Raider Red Advisory Committee, Equine Advisory Board, and Centennial Committee. She is also the Advisor for the Texas Tech High Riders spirit organization. She is the author of the upcoming book, Long Live the Matadors, which chronicles the history of the Masked Rider program. Her book will be available in May through Texas Tech Press. Stacy is the past President of the Texas Tech Staff Senate. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lubbock. In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband, Trey, and their nine-month-old baby, Vivian. She also enjoys cheering on the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders!
Maggie's hometown is Lampasas, Texas She is the Director of the LSAMP Scholars Program and the Assistant Director of STEM CORE at Texas Tech University. She is also an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Certified Life Coach, serves as the Cluster Rep for the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and is the former Staff Senate President. She holds a degree in Agricultural leadership, a Master in Military History and War Strategy, and is currently pursing a doctorate in higher education. Maggie is a supporter of Lubbock Arts Alliance, Volunteer Center of Lubbock, local animal shelters, and military veterans programs. She was named one of Texas Tech's Phenomenal Women in 2021. As a first generation college graduate, Maggie is active in First-generation support programs across Texas. In her free time she enjoys traveling, bowling, reading, and spending time with her daughter, Hannah. Maggie says her purpose is to connect people to each other in ways that maximize potential, promote reflection and empowerment, and create lasting, positive relationships.
Paula is semi-retired from running Paula Montoya Insurance. She has served in many leadership positions including President on LULAC Council 4255, Chairmen of the Lubbock Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Lubbock Symphony Board of Directors, Lubbock Civic Ballet Board of Directors, and Hispanic Association of Women. She has received many awards such as LHCC Business Woman of the Year, The State of Texas Sesquicentennial Award, TAMACC Chairman's Award and many more. She is focused on being the best daughter, aunt, great-aunt, and sister. She successfully runs her brothers campaign for judge and focused on recruiting candidates in Lubbock. Paula enjoys spending time with her mother and great niece Sophia. She says she has lived a life of opportunities. She looks forward to leaving a print through political advocacy and mentorship locally and nationwide.
